Licensed Paralegal / Marketing Director
Mark began his career with Aitken Robertson in October of 2013 as a paralegal field placement student and part-time employee tasked with increasing the firm’s online presence by taking control of their marketing campaign.
In 2014, he graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming College’s Paralegal Studies program and landed himself on the Dean’s list for his efforts towards his studies. He then went on to acquire his paralegal licence from the Law Society of Upper Canada and Aitken Robertson hired him full-time as a licensed paralegal and marketing employee. Utilizing his skills in video production, web design, content writing, and media relations, Mark has created a niche for himself in the online marketing community and was awarded the title of ‘Marketing Director’ in early 2015.
As a result of the success created by Aitken Robertson’s marketing initiatives, there came a need to have a full-time operation in eastern Ontario, and Mark was awarded the opportunity to run his own office on behalf of the firm in Kingston, ON. The grand opening of Aitken Robertson’s eastern Ontario operation was in April of 2015, and in a short period of time, Mark has exceeded expectations the firm had for this new venture.
Mark is now responsible for the greater majority of the firm’s provincial offences, narrowing his focus to defending those charged under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act. He does everything from initial client consultations, developing successful defence strategies, and serving as an advocate in court for those who require his assistance. In addition, he is also responsible for the early stages of criminal court proceedings in the east on behalf of his principle, Mr. Richard Aitken.
