Tarinpal Dhaliwal is an outstanding lawyer. I was facing a domestic assault charge with strong evidence for the Crown including medical records and eye witness testimony. I was fully acquitted after a 2 day trial originally scheduled for 3 days. In addition my firearms application was vacated and i am walking away not guilty and without a peace bond.. I have had three experiences with the Aitken Robertson team. The first time a DUI was reduced to a careless based on a charter of rights breach I would have had no idea about. I was absolutely thrilled with the work of Tarinpal Dali! The second experience was a second DUI. I was under the help of Justin Merchant. This time I was a bit disappointed with the lack of preparation for meetings (didn’t realize it would be considered my first offense until probably 14 months into the case when I pointed it out). That said, in the end he exhausted all resources to try to get it dropped down but was unsuccessful. This was understandable to me in the end. The last experience was for an alleged assault and I was under the help of Dan Lemaire! He was efficient, to the point and was able to get it basically completely dropped which I was quite happy with despite the clear evidence! The paralegal Carol has been amazing to work with on the phone as well as the rest of the office staff such as Suzie! Thanks to the team for all your help during a dark time of my life!

Highly recommend Mr. Dhaliwal, we went to trial and I was acquitted of both charges (impaired and over 80), had my breath test thrown out as well (160), Mr Dhaliwal and I had multiple in person meetings to talk over and review my case as well as on the phone, he made sure that I wasn’t confused on any part of my case, really showed that he cares about his job and the cases he works with, before we went to trial we did a mock up of the trail as he would act as the crown attorney and ask me questions similar to what was in the ball park of the questions asked by the crown, I felt confident that he had my back going to trial, I almost feel like Mr. Dhaliwal was too prepared he blew the crown out of the water with our defence. Definitely going to be recommending all my buddies if they ever get into some trouble.

Very happy with the results in regards to my case (domestic assault/mischief). So happy that I didn't plead guilty (which would have resulted in a criminal record), and they were able to negoatiate a resolution that lead to charges being withdrawn and no criminal record, provided I complete counselling and some other requirements.Fees are maybe a little on the high end, but in the end worth it considering the outcome. They were more than willing to work out a payment plan over 12 months.Very professional, willing to work with you any time of the day, so all in all I would highly reccomend.

July 2017, summer weekend at the the cottage when things and the car took a turn for the worse. Early in the am I was involved in a single car accident returning to the cottage. The cars 911 assist had alerted authorities of air bag deployment. Shocked and confused I was arrested and charged with impaired and over 80. Later that morning we turned to the internet to find a lawyer, having never required one and relying on reviews. We called Aitken Robertson and took advantage of there free call. The call and advice really helped calm our nerves. Living 4 hours from themuskoka’s, Richards team was able to appear on my behalf for my first hearing and set a date for court. Discovery was professional and conducted by phone. Aitken Robertson was also able to send a lawyer to appear with during an insurance statement for which I was very grateful. With the hard work and negotiations Richard was able to work with the Crown and the case never went to court. A lawyer form his Newmarket office was present and helpfully during my appearance with the Judge and Crown. Leaving this terrible weekend behind me for a careless charge I consider a win. The team they have is amazing, quick to respond to emails and calls. Even with never meeting with Richard him self or even going to one of there offices, this is the 21 century. In march of 2017 I made an error in judgement.I was given a bottle of single malt scotch out on the ice of lake simcoe. Instead of waiting until I got home my friend and I had a few drinks while fishing. I had arranged a designated driver for the truck ride home not thinking of my atv ride off of the lake. When I drove my ATV off of the ice into the parking lot the police were there checking license and registration. I have had three experiences with the Aitken Robertson team. The first time a DUI was reduced to a careless based on a charter of rights breach I would have had no idea about. I was absolutely thrilled with the work of Tarinpal Dali! The second experience was a second DUI. I was under the help of Justin Merchant. This time I was a bit disappointed with the lack of preparation for meetings (didn’t realize it would be considered my first offense until probably 14 months into the case when I pointed it out). That said, in the end he exhausted all resources to try to get it dropped down but was unsuccessful. This was understandable to me in the end. The last experience was for an alleged assault and I was under the help of Dan Lemaire! He was efficient, to the point and was able to get it basically completely dropped which I was quite happy with despite the clear evidence! Highly recommend Mr. Dhaliwal, we went to trial and I was acquitted of both charges (impaired and over 80), had my breath test thrown out as well (160), Mr Dhaliwal and I had multiple in person meetings to talk over and review my case as well as on the phone, he made sure that I wasn’t confused on any part of my case, really showed that he cares about his job and the cases he works with, before we went to trial we did a mock up of the trail as he would act as the crown attorney and ask me questions similar to what was in the ball park of the questions asked by the crown, I felt confident that he had my back going to trial, I almost feel like Mr. Dhaliwal was too prepared he blew the crown out of the water with our defence. So happy that I didn't plead guilty (which would have resulted in a criminal record), and they were able to negoatiate a resolution that lead to charges being withdrawn and no criminal record, provided I complete counselling and some other requirements.Fees are maybe a little on the high end, but in the end worth it considering the outcome. Nothing.In 2017 I was charged with blowing over 80 after being pulled over for driving a "suspicious" looking vehicle around the block. Once. I was not pulled over for impaired driving. I had gotten charged with failure to provide a breath sample and like most people in this situation my life had been turned upside down.After realizing the severity of the situation and financial crisis i was facing i knew i was definitely going to need a lawyer.I was debating about pleading guilty and saving the money but “ If you don’t fight then you definitely don’t have a chance” and I’m glad i did.Keep in mind that trial is always a gamble and may not win. 5 months of hell... stressing night after night.The day of my trial my lawyer Edmund Chan, had found a technicality in my case and referenced it to a previous case that had been appealed and overturned 3 weeks previous. July 2017, summer weekend at the the cottage when things and the car took a turn for the worse. Early in the am I was involved in a single car accident returning to the cottage. The cars 911 assist had alerted authorities of air bag deployment. Shocked and confused I was arrested and charged with impaired and over 80. Later that morning we turned to the internet to find a lawyer, having never required one and relying on reviews. We called Aitken Robertson and took advantage of there free call. The call and advice really helped calm our nerves. Living 4 hours from themuskoka’s, Richards team was able to appear on my behalf for my first hearing and set a date for court. Discovery was professional and conducted by phone. Aitken Robertson was also able to send a lawyer to appear with during an insurance statement for which I was very grateful. With the hard work and negotiations Richard was able to work with the Crown and the case never went to court. A lawyer form his Newmarket office was present and helpfully during my appearance with the Judge and Crown. Leaving this terrible weekend behind me for a careless charge I consider a win. The team they have is amazing, quick to respond to emails and calls. Even with never meeting with Richard him self or even going to one of there offices, this is the 21 century. In march of 2017 I made an error in judgement.I was given a bottle of single malt scotch out on the ice of lake simcoe. Instead of waiting until I got home my friend and I had a few drinks while fishing. I had arranged a designated driver for the truck ride home not thinking of my atv ride off of the lake. When I drove my ATV off of the ice into the parking lot the police were there checking license and registration. I was subsequently charged with Driving with over 80.When I contacted my local business law firm the recommended me to Aitken Robertsen for this particular charge. They said they were the best firm around for this particular type of charge. "They were right". I was referred to MR Edmund Chan. The loss of my license would have been devastating. I met with Edmund and quickly learned what I thought was relevant to the case wasn;t and what I thought was irrelevant was.
