Express Entry (Immigrate as a Skilled Worker)
The Express Entry system is a three-stage immigration process where interested applicants must first submit an Express Entry form online. It is an application for permanent residence designed for skilled workers and completed via an online process. In brief, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) assess the potential applicants against a specific eligibility criteria. Potential applicants who are deemed to have met the eligibility criteria are then entered into a pool with other eligible candidates. Those candidates whose profiles align with the identified needs of the Canadian government will be issued an “invitation to apply” (ITA). Only the candidates who receive invitations can then proceed to apply for permanent residence within 60 days.
Factors for Eligibility for Express Entry
The Canadian government is always seeking to facilitate immigration such that meaningful contributions are made to the nation’s well-being. Below are some of the factors that are taken into consideration in determining desirable candidates for Canadian immigration:
- skills and skill transferability
- work experience
- language ability (French and English)
- family in Canada
- any arranged job offer
- nomination by a Canadian province
- Canadian education
- Spouse or common-law partner’s profile where applicable
Express Entry Draws
After ranking the potential applicants based on the eligibility criteria, the IRCC will organize “draws” and invite selected candidates to submit a full, complete application for permanent residency (ITA).
In a nutshell, we help you determine if you are eligible (or alternatively provide you with pathways to become eligible), assist with ensuring you obtain all the necessary documentation, include a complete application to avoid any returns, and submit your application. The next step is to receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence from the Government of Canada. This will depend on how well you score compared to others in your pool. At this point, we work with you to ensure that you complete your application for permanent residence within the prescribed strict time frame of 60 days and in accordance with the immigration rules.
