Drug Offences: The Legality of “Illegal” Dispensaries

I’ll just explain the legality of illegal dispensaries. Dispensaries that are selling marijuana illegally are not only subject to heavy fines under provincial legislation, but they’re also subject to the same old provisions of the Criminal Code. So everything relating to trafficking and illegal production, all of the Criminal Code provisions within that respect are there. There are new provincial penalties now that are aimed at cracking down on illegal dispensaries and they are astronomical fines. So the government has anticipated that there will be problems and sure enough there are and there are very strict rules about dispensing illegally.
