Christina Ranasinghe-Bandara

Graduating with honours from Trent University, Christina achieved a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cultural Studies, specializing in Integrated Arts, Literature & Narrative, Film & Media, Culture & Theory. She was selected as one of four Trent Champions to present in Trent’s annual Trent Reads competition and studied abroad at Swinburne University in Melbourne, Australia where she was awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Radio Production & Criticism.

Following Christina’s undergraduate education, she pursued a Teaching English of Second Language certification and completed her Graduate studies in Creative Writing. She kickstarted a freelance career writing content for both print and online platforms while also undertaking website design for various companies. Christina became a member of the Professional Writers Association of Canada and acted as Writer Services Manager to Canada’s leading literary festival, Kingston WritersFest. She facilitated panel discussions and acted as guest speaker at content development events, speaking to business owners on the importance of content creation and how to successfully do so.

Christina then worked in the pre-recorded audio tour industry, where she worked in-house at an international tour company travelling to various cities around the world and creating tour scripts. The transition from writing print material to producing audio content led her to writing and developing for the screen. Her freelance work moved into the video marketing arena while simultaneously scripting and producing independent film content. Christina has worked with various Canadian brands and international networks such as Lifetime, Hallmark, Reel One, and ABC Freeform.

Christina’s content development services now combine her extensive print, audio, and video experience, which gives her clients great insight on marketing options across a multitude of mediums. When not creatively collaborating with her clients, Christina enjoys on-camera acting, scriptwriting and film producing, traveling with her husband, and playing fetch with her undeniably cute cat, Athens.
